According to the "Reykjavik Grapevine" reported on August 19, due to the recent rebound of the Icelandic epidemic, the Icelandic market demand for masks is unprecedented。Three agencies are keeping a close eye on Iceland's mask market: the Icelandic Consumer Authority (Neytendastofa), which regulates the sale of masks (non-medical masks) to everyday consumers; The Icelandic Medicines Authority (Lyfja-stofnun) regulates the sale of medical masks;Iceland's Occupational Safety and Health Authority (Vinnu-eft-ir-litid) regulates the sale of masks for industrial and commercial enterprises。Recently, some masks that do not meet the minimum requirements to stop the novel coronavirus appeared on the market in Iceland, and the Consumer Council said that it absolutely does not want consumers to wear inferior masks that do not meet the safety requirements, saying that the agency is checking the certification of masks on the market。

According to a price survey conducted by the Icelandic Federation of Labour (ASI), the unit price of three layers of disposable masks varies greatly。The lowest price is 49ISK/ piece, while the highest price is 298ISK/ piece。The quality of masks was not assessed in the price survey。
